Helping Hand Vision is a dedicated organization committed to uplifting the lives of the poor, needy, and marginalized individuals, including the destitute, mentally ill, and those living on the streets. The idea of extending support to these vulnerable groups emerged from the compassionate hearts of the organization's founders, who, after witnessing the dire conditions of these individuals, were moved to take action. They recognized the urgent need for basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter for those suffering from extreme poverty, illness, and abandonment. This realization led to the formation of Helping Hand Vision, a state-level institution focused on addressing the needs of these people, regardless of their age, gender, or background.
Four like-minded individuals, driven by a shared vision, came together to develop a comprehensive strategy for providing sustained support to those in need. Their approach involved mobilizing resources from the community, collecting unused clothes, and gathering other essential items to distribute among the most vulnerable. These efforts were aimed at alleviating the suffering of those living on the streets, who are often victims of various societal ills and injustices.
To formalize their mission, these four visionaries decided to establish a trust that would serve as a 'bank' for food materials and clothing. This trust would not only collect and store donations but also organize the preparation and distribution of meals to those in need. Additionally, the trust aimed to provide shelter for destitute children and elderly individuals, offering them a safe space to live with dignity and respect. On October 15, 2018, Helping Hand Vision was officially registered as a charitable trust under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. Although the organization's journey began earlier, it gained formal recognition on this date and has since been actively engaged in welfare and development services.
Social Responsibility
Helping Hand Vision has made significant strides in its mission to uplift the poor and needy. The organization has established a children's home, where nineteen destitute children are currently being cared for and given the opportunity to reintegrate into society with self-respect. The foundation's activities are primarily funded through donations, both monetary and in-kind, which are used to cook and distribute meals to those in need. The foundation has garnered support from various institutions, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura State Rifles (TSR), State Bank of India (SBI), School of Science (SoS), and Agartala Nursing Home (ANH), all of whom contribute regularly to the cause. Additionally, over fifty individuals provide financial assistance on an as-needed basis, demonstrating widespread community support for the foundation's mission.
As Helping Hand Vision continues to grow, the trustees have focused on establishing the organization as a specialized institution for its unique brand of humanitarian work. They have taken steps to secure exemptions from the Income Tax Department under sections 12A and 80G, and have also registered with NGO Darpan under Niti Aayog ,ensuring transparency and accountability in their operations.
To further expand its impact, Helping Hand Vision has outlined four key sectoral programs: Education, Health, Environment, and Community Development. These programs are designed to address the diverse needs of the populations they serve, providing holistic support that goes beyond immediate relief. The foundation has also established a Board of Trustees (BoT) to oversee its initiatives and ensure the successful execution of its programs.
